[Class 29] Cold-air and like non-condensing systems.- Regulation of the cooling or heating effect of a system comprising a compressor 3, a heat-exchanger 4 dissipating heat to a circuit II, an expansion motor 1, and a heat-exchanger 2 receiving heat from a circuit 1 is effected by varying the pressure or other state of the medium in the system, or by exchanging or mixing with the medium another having different characteristics. The compressor is driven by a motor 5, and the suction and delivery sides are connected at 7, 8 to conduits having control valves 9 ... 12 and to a rotary pump 6. The suction or delivery pressure may be separately adjusted towards atmospheric pressure, or by operation of the pump 6 may be otherwise varied. The system is particularly adapted for turbo-compressors and turbine expansion motors, and regulation may be effected by varying the nozzle openings of the expansion turbine or the admission valves of a piston expansion motor.
