Abstract
One circuit consists of a closed cycle containing refrigerant flowing through a condenser (2), an expansion valve (6), an evaporator (3) and a compressor (5). A second similar circuit containing its own charg of refrigerant has a condenser (12), an expansion valve (16), an evaporator (13) and a compressor (15). A fan (1) blows air which is to be used for heating the building over the condensers (2, 12) in sequence and a second fan (11) blows outside air over the evaporators (3, 13) in sequence to provide the heat source. Further similar separate and independent refrigerant circuits can be added. The upper and lower temperatures of each circuit are independent of those of the other circuits and can be chosen to give a greater overall coefficient of performance.
