Abstract

The machine may be used for cutting metal bars and includes a band saw, a vice and hydraulic controls. The saw is raised and lowered in the fashion of a cantilever arm pivoting about a fulcrum, and is manipulated by an inclined jack. The vice is fixed and the saw is orientable relative to a vertical axis thus, enabling the angle of cut to be varied as desired. A sub-assembly comprising the saw, the saw-motor, and the cutting oil recovery tank is pivotable about a fixed axis and on a conical roller bearing. The sub-assembly is held in the desired position by a drum brake and the machine may be used in the automatic mass prodn. of cut bars.
