Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of steel ingots as far as possible with a compact device by clamping the steel ingot with an upper cutting blade and a clamping cradle, and moving a lower cutting blade thereby cutting the ingot. CONSTITUTION:As a traveling cylinder 20 is driven to extend, a taveling carriage 11 travels toward a traveling direction 22. Upon lapse of a set time, a clamping cylinder 14 is driven to extend, thereby lowering a frame 12 and an upper cutting blade 15. A steel ingot 21 is grasped by a pressure between the blade 15 and a clamping cradle 19, by which the clamping is completed. At this point of time, a cutting cylinder 18 and a return cylinder 37 are driven to extend. A lower blade holder 16 ascends and the ingot 21 is cut by the blade 15 and a lower cutting blade 17. During this cutting, the ingot 21 is held clamped by the blade 15 and the cradle 19 and therefore the deformation by the cutting of the ingot 21 is prevented as far as possible.
