Abstract

The hydraulic shears may be attached to the jib of the crane, allow for the orientation of the cutting plane at any angle to the vertical, and provide for the in situ cutting of metal, concrete, wood or similar. Motive force is provided by an hydraulic jack, and the inclination of the cut may be effected by rotating the unit about an axis through the cutting line. The piece being cut may be held in position by a counter blade which is manipulated independently by an auxiliary jack. A support arm may locate the two primary blades which rock on independent parallel axles also locating the prim. jack and the counter blade with the auxiliary jack. A rotary jack may be used to vary the cutting angle.
