Abstract
A filter for liqs. has a filtration vessel contg. filtration materials whose densities differ slightly from one another and lie on either side of the density of the liq. to be filtered. Compared with conventional filters employing particulate filter media, the filter has a higher efficiency at a lower operating cost. The filtration efficiency can be twice as high for the same press. drop, and the plant requires less space. Regeneration with reverse-flow purging can be carried out more effectively than in conventional plants, and the operating cycle period is longer. Used esp. for water purifcn.
