Abstract

A baking oven is surrounded by a system of vertical and horizontal water-filled pipes and divided into a number of decks. The pipes are arranged close to each other and one vertical array forms one side wall of a flue leading to the chimney. A line of burners heats the bottom row of horizontal pipes directly. The result is a greatly increased heating surface and maximum utilization of the heat content of the gases.
