Abstract

The wind powered heating system has a generator (2) driven by a propeller (1) connected to a set resistor (5) supplying heat to a heat exchange coil (8) of a heat exchanger (6) supplying hot water to a series of hot water radiators (9, 9a, 9b). The propeller also drives a tachometric dynamo (16) while the generator output can also be switched to feed a set of electric heaters (13, 13a, 13b). When the speed of the wind is high both the resisters (5) for the heat exchange and the electric heaters receive current through respective switches (4) and (15). If the speed falls, a relay (17) operated by the dynamo (16) opens the electric heater switch (15) cutting off the electric heaters and only the hot water radiators are supplied. The relay (17) also operates an electromagnetic valve (11) for the water circulation circuit. The generator (2) also charges batteries (22) supplying power to various components in the circuit.
