Abstract

Candle comprises several wicks of which the flame-forming portions form a ring around the candle axis, pref. with a distance between the wicks and the acis such that only one flame is formed. The wicks pref. consists of the lit portions of a thin hollow cylinder with transverse holes which leave separate wick portions between them, in the course of burning of the candle. The hollow cylinder may be in the form of a cylindrical braid. The candle has increased flame intensity and lighting power, without producing more black smoke than conventional candles. In an example, the candle may be made of stearin of wax, and the wicks may be made of cotton or hemp.
