Abstract
The heat exchanger consists of a copper tube (22) which is fitted with external fins (24). The inside surface of the exchanger is cut with an internal spiral groove (32) of capillary dimensions. The groove is cut by means of a point tool which forms shaped U-groove in the exchanger. The tool simultaneously cuts and folds the metal of the inside of the tube. This forms a partially enclosed spiral capillary guiding the flow of fluid inside the tube.
