Abstract

The chest type bathroom unit includes sanitary fittings such as a basin (11) and a bidet (15) which can retract into storage positions by pivoting about horizontal axes. The unit may comprise a tall container of slender rectangular shape in horizontal cross-section, and with double doors (18) on a major face. The sanitary fittins retract into a vertically clush position (14) permitting door closure. The vertical end walls of the container may be formed by framing members (1, 2) of the rectangular hollow section. The end posts (1, 2) are joined by appropriate traverses, and contain the service pipes to the sanitary fittings. The fittings (11, 15) may rotate about horizontal axes which are mounted in openings in the post (1, 2) section walls. The azle also serves as the waste pipe with a diametric flexible pipe leading to the base.
