Abstract
The solar energy collector (8) forms the outer layer of a two leaf heat exchanger (7, 8). The absorption refrigerator generator (3) is built integrally with this assembly behind the upper part of the collector. There is a throttle valve (14) in the connection between the collector (8) and the generator (3). Liquid strong in refrigerant, is drawn by a pump (1) from the absorber and passed through the collector (8) into the generator (3). The refrigerant is evaporated in the generator and discharged (4) to the cooling coils, while weak liquid drains through the inner leaf (7) of the heat exchanger to the absorber. The throttle valve (14) prevents premature evaporation of the refrigerant in the collector and the compact assembly provides direct heating to the generator.
