Abstract

Ethers of formula (I) and their acid addition salts are new where R1 is 1-8C alkyl, opt. substd. by >=1 halogen atoms or one alkoxy gp., CN, 3-6C alkenyl (opt. substd. by >=1 halogen), 3-6C alkynyl (opt. substd. by >=1 halogen) or a gp. (II). R2 is H, 1-5C alkyl, cyclohexyl or Ph; each R3 is F, Cl, Br, CH3, CF3, Ph or 1-3C alkyl; R4 is Cl, Br, CF3 or 1-4C alkyl; m is 0-5; and n is 0-3. (I) are fungicides lacking the phytotoxic effects of known imidazole substd. ethers towards cultivated plants and having superior activity. They have systemic activity in part, and can be used for foliar or soil treatment. Application is at 0.01-3, pref. 0.01-1 kg/ha. A claimed cpd. is 1-allyloxy-1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl) ethane.
