Abstract

In regulating the growth of plants, a cpd. of formula (I) (where R1 is alkenyl, alkynyl or opt. substd. aralkyl or aralkenyl; R2 is cycloalkyl, alkyl or haloalkyl; Y is N or CHf and Zis C=O or a deriv. thereof) or an acid addn. salt or metal complex is applied to the plants, their seeds, or the environment of the plants or seeds. (I), in which R1 is benzyl opt. substd. by 1-3 halogen atoms and R2 is isobutyl and their salts and metal complexes, are new and claimed. (I) have plant growth regulant activity. Those cpds. which are new are also useful as fungicides against phytopathogenic fungi.
