Abstract
The membrane (10) divides the body (1) into two compartments and is spring loaded (14) on one side, the load being adjustable by set screw. On the other side, in the chamber containing the gas, a central shaft (8) attached to the membrane passes through a slot (7) in the valve arm (5) and terminates in an expanded portion (9). The shaft thus drives the arm only one way, the direction being such that the arm, pivoted (6) near the other end closes the inle tport (2) with a sealing pad (4). This action occurs if the pressure downstream of the port rises and deflects the membrane against the spring load. The manual turn off knob (18) rotates a rod (19) which bears on the underside of the vavle arm and registers in a notch (20) in the off position. A stop (22) prevents complete revolution of the knob and when off, there is no connection between membrane and lever.
