Abstract

The dispersal system is for a projectile whereby the exploding sections are able to be controlled. It comprises a destructible, hermetically sealed container which contains the explosive charge combined with a compressed gas. The container is formed by an envelope which is constructed so as to fragment immediately a built in initiator is activated. The container comprises a generator for the pressurised gas and a device for transferring the gas from the container to the envelope before fragmentation occurs. The gas is thus combined with the explosive charge before the body explodes.
