Abstract
Mfr. of an inflatable dinghy is carried out by placing sealable thermoplastic webs each of which forms a sector in the flat state one on top of the other, and joining them together in an edge zone along a curved weld seam, which is the flattened form of the weld seam which subsequently extends around the inflated tube. All the connected sectors are then bent around the longitudinal axis of the tube, and closed by welding in the common flat overlapping edge. Pref. the thermoplastic material comprises a sheet-like or fabric-like PVC. The length and width of each web is pref. greater than the width and circumference of the sector by the amt. required for the weld seam. The method can be carried out without shaping tools and in a shorter time than previously.
