Abstract

Procedure for the manufacture of large plastic bags from thick material by welding flat, folded sheets round the edges using techniques described in the original patent. Two folded sheets are laid together forming internal folds. Welds are formed along the sides and across the bottom and top, then the completed bags are cut off. The folded sheets have a Z section. To avoid welding the inner folds to themselves thermally conducting but non-adherent material cages are placed between the folds before heating.
