Abstract
The hollow conductor rail (24) has an entry slot for inserting the pick-up shoe and a number of conductor strips (26) set in grooves in the sides of the rail. The pick-up shoe has a profiled extension (2) which slots into the rail, with a number of contacts to slide over the contact strips. The shoe is inserted at a slight angle to the rail, and then turned in line with the rail to make contact. A retaining tab (29) on the shoe support grips under the edge of the rail and prevents the shoe from falling out. Extra profiled flanges (23b) at the bottom of the profile ensure a good fit, and prevent the extension from making contact with the wrong strips by sliding into special grooves in the side of the rail.
