Abstract

The engraving tool consists of a rotary head for producing translucent panels for luminous placards. The axle (1) supports a spindle (2) containing a clamp (3) gripping the pointed engraving tool (4). The clamp (3) is held in place by a split pin through a ring (5) screwed to the spindle (2). Compressed air is fed into an annular space (12) through a supply pipe (13) and passes through holes (15) into a nozzle (16). The point passes through a hole (18) in the nozzle tip. The compressed air forms a cushion which prevents the nozzle from touching the engraved plate.
