Abstract
The equipment which is to be controlled can be e.g. a water heater, an autoclave, a refrigerator, a boiler or similar equipment. A regulator mounted on a safety arrangement which forms part of the equipment is in contact with the fluid which escapes from the safety arrangement and with the convection current which flows round the outside of the equipment. The regulator incorporates a heat sensitive element which determines whether the heat generating or cooling equipment is switched on or off. This control therefore depends on the temperature and the pressure of the liquid which escapes from the safety arrangement. The heat sensitive element used, is a bimetallic strip which is submerged in a heat conducting liquid. Strip and heat conducting liquid are located in a ring shaped housing mounted round the outlet of the safety arrangement.
