Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the overheating of hot water by using a system in which a heat sensor made of a shape-memory alloy is used for detecting the temperature of hot water in bathtub, the temperature of hot water is detected by the heat sensor, and the supply of gas is stopped. CONSTITUTION:An automatic gas stopper consists of a coiled heat sensor 3 made of a shape memory allot, a piston part 4 operating according to the deformation of the heat sensor due to the rise of temperature, and a medium 5, e.g., oil, etc., to be compressed by the operation of the piston part 4. The medium 5 is sent into a box through a pipe 13 to operate the piston part 18 inside the box 20, whereby a diaphragm valve 16 connected to the piston part 18 is operated to close the entrance 14 for gas. Thus, the supply of gas to the burner 26 of a bath heater 25 through a gas pipe 22 is stopped.
