Abstract

The control circuit is for a DC motor which incorporates a permanent magnet and uses also capacitors which may be isolated from the motor. The capacitor discharge accelerates the motor during the early stages of the cycle, until a normal running sequence is achieved. The motor achieves a constant rotating couple, and its polarity may be reversed by the operation of a relay. In a typical arrangement, the main supply is from a 220V AC source (13) through a converter, rectifier, smoothing capacitor (31) and switch contacts to the motor (1, 7, 8) the auxiliary circuit comprising a diode (30), change-over relay (28, 29) and a charge / discharge capacitor (27).
