Abstract

The heater has a storage compartment which has electric heating elements (7) supplied through a time switch at off peak periods only. The elements are surrounded by refractory bricks (8) which are enclosed in an insulating lining (9). The whole assembly is contained within a metal enclosure (11). Between the front of this enclosure (11) and the front (1) of the heater casing, a narrow compartment (10) is left. It has an opening (12) to the room in its base and a discharge grill (15) at the top. It contains an electric heater (14) supplied at normal tariff and controlled by a room thermostat in the front of the unit.
