Abstract

The unit has a sensor for the piston position measurement, which delivers two synchronous, but shifted in phase signals. It has also a suction sensor whose signal gives the engine load. Sensor signals are applied to a computing unit which delivers a signal representing the engine speed, and also ignition advance commands. The electronic unit is inserted between the piston position sensor and the electronic ignition system. It is controlled by the engine speed signal and operates in accordance with the ignition advance commands. It trips the electronic ignition system at the exact required instant. The unit has two channels whose operation mutually and automatically excludes each other.
