Abstract

The support plate is a flat disc (1) having a number of radial segments removed (4) so that a form of spoked wheel results. The hub is strengthened with plates (2)on either side and splined (3) to transmit the drive. A friction lining (6, 7) in the form of an annulus is fitted on each side of the plate and is formed so that projections on its inner face register in the spaces in the support plate. Projections from the two linings alternate in position in the spaces and the linings are retained in place by spring clips (10), which locate in recesses (11) cut in the thicker parts of the lining on the inner periphery.
