Abstract

The jug which need not be watertight is made from a single blank of plastic material which is folded down the centre and along its edge (3) so that the two halves come together to form a carrying handle (11). The jug is ribbed (19) for strength and is fitted with a pouring spout (4a). The base consists of four overlapping flaps (13,14,15,16) integral with the side. The jug can hold a refill liner made from a watertight bag which has the same internal shape as the jug when spread out. The lining bag is seamed along the top edge, and also has a sealed pouring spout at the front edge. The spout is cut open before use, and the edges may be pinched between the jaws (22) to prevent spilling.
