Abstract

The windscreen wiper motor is coupled to the supply line by a control relay operated by a transistorised timing and amplifying circuit. The amplifier is coupled to the parking switch by a special feedback loop which ensures that the amplifier is reset when the wipers reach the end of the sweep. If the wiper switch is still on then the timing circuit provides the interval time delay. The system ensures that when the wipers are first switched on, with interval setting, then the first sweep starts immediately and not after a set delay. This provides instant response and does not deceive the driver that the wipers are faulty.
