Abstract

The wiper and washer system esp. for the rear window of a vehicle has the washer pump (WP) linked to the wiping control by a timing circuit so that the wash sequence operates only for a set time interval to save water. A manual switch (S2) can be operated to isolate the wash cycle. The manual switch can be linked to a moisture sensing switch on the window so that the washing cycle is inhibited when there is sufficient precipitation on the glass.
