Abstract

Electronic heating regulators comprising triacs or thyristors cause radio electric interference and also have safety and expense problems. These problems are overcome by using a thermistor in series with the heating resistor elements as a regulator. A thermistor (1) comprising a winding (4) of wire resistant to heat is powered from a transformer (5) delivering a low voltage. The thermistor is connected in series with the heating element (2) and its winding is connected to a main supply (3). A potentiometric circuit (7) or thermostat (6) is connected to the thermistor winding in the low voltage circuit to provide heating control and to regulate heating current when actual temperature differs from demanded temperature.
