Abstract

The programming circuit for electrical heaters is based on an example using an assembly of four electric heating radiators developing 3000 watts, each heater being in series with a triac. A control lead to each triac trigger is connected to a contact of a relay which is actuated by a thermostat switch set to the required temperature for space heating (e.g. 22 deg.C). A switch is operated by a clock operated timing device for daily control, or for a longer period as may be required by, say, an educational establishment. The control circuit runs at low voltage (e.g. 24 volts) and is powered by a small transformer with primary connected to the mains (220 volts or thereabouts).
