Abstract
The cell for conversion of solar radiation to heat comprises a heat-insulated housing (2) cong. a heat exchanger (1) which has an absorber surface (3) for absorbing solar radiation. The absorber surface is covered by a shield (4) which is spaced from it and which allows transmission of incident solar rays. The gap (7) between the absorber surface and shield is filled with a medium which absorbs long-wave radiation reflected by the absorber surface, pref. CO2. The Shield pref. consists of at least one glass or plastic panel. The heat exchanger may include an absorber panel with parallel adjacent channel-like recesses, and spaced above each recess a pipe which is parallel to its longitudinal axis. Adjacent pipes are connected to each other to form a flow path for a heat transfer medium.
