Abstract
A solar heating system which may use water as the circulating fluid, uses an energy absorbing unit which may be of a known type, but housed inside a rectangular block (14) which is the size of a standard brick or breeze block so that it can be built into a wall, the block having a transparent face (16) and housing a parabolic reflector (18) with a liquid conveying tube (6) along its focal axis. The block is divided into a main compartment for these items, and also an automatically operated blind (22), and a smaller compartment (14') at the end in which necessary connections can be made for the conveying tubes (7). By using a modular size, installations can be built up with a set of blocks mounted one above the other or end to end.
