Abstract

Guides for material being rolled in a mill, consist of at least one upper- and one lower guide-half on the inlet-and/or exit side of the rolls. Each guide-half extends over the entire rolling width or several rolling grooves and contains several guide- channels which match the rolling grooves, and each guide-half is connected to the corresp. roll in the roll stand so that when the roll is adjusted the guide-half is simultaneously adjusted. The connections between the guide-halves and the corresp. roll is pref. achieved using rails and/or holders fixed to the chocks in which the roll-bearings are mounted. Used for example, on a two-high mill. Whenever the roll-gap is adjusted by moving the chocks, the inlet and/or exit guides are automatically adjusted.
