Abstract

The chimney is built up in sections and has an opening cut into one side at the base of the chimney. This allows a rectangular duct to be inserted along one side of the inner surface of the chimney. The duct is fitted with louvres along its inner surface. The depth of the duct is reduced to maintain the same air discharge velocity with reducing quantity of air. The duct takes air from a box on the outer side of the chimney which is itself supplied by a fan driven by a motor. The accelerator may be fitted to existing chimneys.
