Abstract
A method of recovering energy, partic. from boiler installations using solid, liq. or gaseous fuel, consists of putting in the combustion gas circuit an appts. for purifying the gas by washing it with liq. e.g. water in the form of an atomised spray, and transferring the heat from the wash water to a fluid in a heat exchanger. Before the gases enter this appts. they pass through an appts. for removing dust from them, of known type e.g. mechanical, centrifugal, electrostatic. The invention brings about the suppression of thermal and chemical pollution of the atmos. and increases the yield of energy from 30-35%, obtd. in existing installations, to 95-98%. The investments cost can be recovered in a short period, 1 to 6 months, by the economy in energy achieved.
