Abstract

The oil collected is stored in the reservoir and contained water is continuously circulated to the hydro-ejectors. The ejectors suck conc. oil from the separators and transport it into the reservoir. Pumps are deployed to promote the circulatory flow of water. The vessel may comprise twin supple pneumatic tubes with cone noses, and the equilibrium of contained air and water is maintained by a fixed head stack. The stack comprises a tube which extends vertically from a sump to open out to the atmosphere. The height of the stack dictates the internal air pressure and floatation. A beam may span the two tubes to support a cyclonic separator on each flank. One of the separators is motor driven, and the other relies on the relative displacement of the vessel on the seal.
