Abstract

The packets, of flexible plastic sheet formed into tubes, are pulled onto mandrels on a chain running over two rotors, and engaging in recesses in the rotor peripheries, after which a knife parts off each tube length. The lower end of each tube section, through which the product is inserted, is sealed during passage along the chain, and under the bottom run of the latter is a discharge conveyor, transporting the packets through a mechanism sealing their tops.
