Abstract

Shaping and cutting device for portions of soft pastes, notably of minced meat, is intended to be adapted to the outlet of a proportioning extruder which is fed by a minicing machine. The device comprises a shaping tunnel which has a front portion in the form of a funnel. The funnel end has a circular section and means of connection to the extruder. The circular section is flattened progressively to become rectangular at the other end of the tunnel; this opens flush with the cutting post. The cutting tool is attached to the core of an electro-magnet, A conveyor belt takes the cut portions to the packing post where they are wrapped in a cellulosic film. By means of the simple device, the prod can be shaped continuously to any desired section and cut into a series of identical portions.
