Abstract

Batches of bottles are packaged by placing a band round the batch, whereby the band is cut from a lay-flat tube which is opened and cut, whereupon the band is stretched and placed about the bottles and all the steps of tube and band handling are carried out at locations spaced vertically from each other and above the batch of bottles. Packaging process is continuous and takes place at one station with vertically spaced operating stages.
