Abstract

The connection to attach a wrist-watch strap to the watch body, uses the inherent elasticity of the strap to secure the attachment. Continuing transverse pressure on the strap end then causes the strap to compress elastically and the dowel to gain further penetration, until sufficient clearance obtains to insert the other dowel.
