Abstract

The valve is used to fully or partially close the connection between two hollow chambers. It is particularly intended for use in displacement pumps and reciproacting compressors. The stiffness of the flexible plates can be altered so that the valve can be used over a range of pressures up to 500 kp/cm2. The plates fit over windows in the side of the inner container of the valve. The plates taper towards the fixing point on the container (2). The ratio of the width (b) of one part of the plate (7) over slot or window (5) to the width (b2) in the sprung centre (9) is 8 to 1.1. The thickness ratio is 3 to 1. The elastic plates have one opening in their centre sprung section (9).
