Abstract
Thermo-couple modules are grouped to form a battery with interconnecting active elements used for temp. control or power generation and is intended to reconcile the requirements of heat transmission and the constraints of mechanical stresses. Each module has a disc shaed thermo-couple mounted directly on the heat exchanger lower element via a smaller diameter section integral with the heat exchanger. The thermo-couple's upper surface is connected mechanically to the next heat exchanger by a shaped metal disc which may be conical or convex. Each such junction has a thermo-retractable thermally and electrically insulating annular screen.
