Abstract

In stressed concrete construction, the nut serves for anchorage of a stress bar with a thread, pref. in the form of a part thread comprising helically aligned hot-rolled ribs, with a thickened part with a conical support surface. The nut (1) incorporates a bottom part (5) which is prolonged outwards beyond the thickened part (3), and this is shaped so as to be slimmer than the nut head (2), and so that it tapers towards the end. Two or more diametrally opposed slits (6) may be sited in the nut head. The nut may be made of material less rigid than that in the stress bar, and the pitch of its thread may exceed that of the stress bar thread. This configuration facilitates optimal lead-in of the anchoring force, with the most even stressing of the thread pitches over the whole length of the nut.
