Abstract

The machine to cut-off cylindrical pieces of small diameter from a tube with very high dimensional accuracy mounts the hydraulic cylinders (11) for the radial forward feed of the cutter discs (3) on a face plate (7) so that the centrifugal force can be used to retract the cutter discs with out stopping the face plate. The cylinder spaces (12) are interconnected and joined to the spaces (29) of the clamping cylinder (5) and to the piston rod spaces of the hydraulic cylinder (6). The piston rod (22) of the latter carries a stop (21) which cooperates with a limit switch (24) to cut the workpiece (28) off to length.
