Abstract

The welder's protection equipment is particularly for arc welding and in the form of a mask, comprising an opaque screen with a heavily-tinted lens to allow observation of the work when brightly illuminated. It also has a spotlight (23 - 26) directing a powerful beam of light onto the working area. The spotlight can be completely self-contained and fixed to the top part of the screen (11) and inclined downwards. The spotlight can be a halogen lamp with reflector, controlled by a pushbutton (28) on the mask handle. The design allows the welder to observe the working area with the mask in fronf of his face and prior to striking the arc.
