Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate weld defects such as convex-shaped beads by using a tandem-shaped laser welding torch, and remelting the toe of weld of beads thereby shaping the same. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 11 emitted from a laser beam oscillating device of a tandem-shaped torch is branched of about 30% to the auxiliary torch 2 side by a translucent mirror 5 just before the converging lens 3 of a welding torch 1. The branched laser beam 12 is cast perpendicularly downward by a mirror 4 and is focused at the toe of weld of weld beads by the converging lens 6, thus it is used as a remelting heat source. The laser beam 13 past the translucent mirror 5 is throttled by a converging lens 3 and is used as a welding heat source for the welding work 7. This causes the toe 10a of weld of weld beads 10 to be remelted and shaped. As a result, the convex-shaped beads of laser welding are shaped without the involvement of any increase in the size of equipment.
