Abstract
Cooking appliance consists of a glass-ceramic plate heated in part to temps. >600 degrees C with a heat stress factor >=750, with a heating element and a temp. controlling means underneath the plate. Device is improved in that between the plate underside and the surface of the heating an controlling devices there is a refractory layer (glued or sintered to either of these surfaces) which protects the glass-ceramic plate against scratching or other surface damages. The thickness of this layer is =200 mu; and its NTC may reach 25 x 10-6 Km2/W. The factory layer prevents damaging of the underside of the glass-ceramic plate by external shocks in places where the plate is in contact with the heating element or the controlling means. In these very hot zones, even small damages could be greatly amplified by thermal stresses.
