Abstract

A flat heating surface or plate is applicable to most forms of domestic oven and is esp. suitable for the preparation of pizza and similar dishes. The surface has two separate heating elements buried in a refractory material (1). One element (2) has a high power and approx. follows the perimeter of the plate. The second element (3) operates at a lower power level and is laid within the area defined by the first and follows a convoluted path. Both elements may be controlled simultaneously or they can be individually set at the required heating level. The whole plate is held in a metal tray, the cooking surface consisting of dissected ceramic surfaces.
