Abstract

1. Radiant heater (11) for heating cooking or heating surfaces (27), particularly of glass ceramic plates, with a support tray (12) and thermal and/or electrical insulation (13) arranged therein and a heating element (25) arranged thereon in spaced manner with respect to the cooking or heating surface (27), as well as with a heat sensor (20) projecting at least partly over the heating element (25), characterized in that the heat sensor (20) passes in the vicinity of a portion (30) of insulation (13) which is hollowed out in trough-like manner, in which the spacing of the heating element (25) from the cooking or heating surface (27) is increased with respect to the remaining heated area.
